There is a number of main stage and Sophie headliners we won’t be featuring because we believe that there are better bands further down the running order that need the spotlight turned on them. So without further ado let’s give you the majestic force which is number nine. 

9. Orbit Culture – Ronnie James Dio Stage – Sunday about fiver to three.

A return to the fields of Catton Hall for probably the greatest and most innovative modern metal band. Orbit Culture are unique. Unique in the melodic might that they conjure up. Unique in their tightness and tautness as a live entity. Unique in the way they make a musical style that is decades old feel fresh and insightful. Unique in the way that they evolved as a band, suitably changing their sound on each of their five albums but never losing the inherent musical DNA that makes them, them. 

They have taken melodic death metal and expanded its palette in a way that was previously unimaginable. There is a scale and ambition to them that is just astonishing. They are not content with hundreds of people and small stages; they have created a brand of metal that exists on a global scale. It is sumptuously produced and full of potent power. This is a band that see things big and produces music that towers over you. They will headline this place eventually, so enjoy being able to tell those yet to come you saw them in broad daylight.
