If you can find the right match-up, a co-headlining tour is veritable box office gold. Whilst increasingly big draws in this country, neither Epica nor Amaranthe are on their own ready to headline the cavernous confines of the Manchester Apollo. Yet here we are with the sold-out sign firmly in place and a venue that is packed from top to bottom.
Read MoreWith two full headline sets to get through, it’s inevitable that tonight is going to be an early start but being pushed on stage at ten to seven feels particularly harsh on Wheel. The cavernous confines of the Academy are empty, and it only starts to fill up towards the end of their brief 25-minute set. All of this is a real shame as they are favs of us here at ROCKFLESH towers. Essentially if you like Tool you are going to like Wheel and if you don't like Tool, well then you best stay at the bar.

As I got to the ticket office to pick up my photo pass, I found out progressive Oceans Of Slumber and Myrkur were the support acts for the evening. I am one of those who do my research post-gig, it allows me to take new bands at face value with no misconception, whatever they may be. Considering that Epica musical genre is far from being mainstream, unbeknown to me, they have acquired a decent following in the UK as the venue is nicely packed early.
