Bloodstock Festival Countdown : 24 Bands Not To Miss

So here we are ladies and gentlemen, we are in the TOP 5. The five most sizzling and scrumptious act at this year's Bloodstock. If you sleep through everything else these are the ones you cannot and should not miss. Number 5 is a band immersed in Bloodstock history. This will be their fifth visit to Catton Hall in nineteen years, since they headlined the Thursday of the third outdoor edition. Ladies and gentlemen it is Testament time….

5. Testament – Ronnie James Dio stage – Just after four on Sunday.

Like several thrash veterans, Testament are undoubtedly a bigger proposition now than they ever were in their heyday. They have survived inexplicable changes in style and a revolving door of members in the 90s to emerge in the noughties stronger and more vital than ever. However, it was rather special “Dark Roots Of Earth” that cemented their reclamation of their crown as the greatest thrash band that is not in the big four. Since then, they have just accelerated, introducing three further albums that forge their relevance as a force to be reckoned with. They arrive at Bloodstock on the back of the rather dandy “Para Bellum” an album that sees them once more push the boundaries of what is thrash. They have proved that they are not stuck in a rut and instead are listening to where Metal is going and absorbing more influences. So expect forty-five minutes of prime thrash with sprinklings of death and black for the connoisseur. Enjoy!
