Live Review : Make Them Suffer + Resolve + Conjurer + If Not For Me @ Academy 2, Manchester on May 10th 2025

Genres like metalcore and deathcore actually cover such an eclectic range of bands that it’s sometimes hard to find a balanced bill. Tonight, we have as close as you’d get to that balanced bill, with four exciting bands that while slick and cohesive, are all different in their own way. Make Them Suffer have evolved from a deathcore band to something much more creative, and headliner tonight’s offering with a couple of ROCKFLESH favourites Resolve and Conjurer in tow. All the bands tonight have evolved but never skimped on passion and raw energy.

French act Resolve have quickly become favourites at Rockflesh towers, with their blend of melodic metalcore. But they’re more than that. They break that pigeonhole with vibrant melodies and energetic groove. We did interview them in early 2023 (video interview) but this time they are back headlining Rebellion in support of their latest rather brilliant release “Human”.

We get along to the venue early and get to interview bassist Robin Mariat from one of tonight’s co-headliners Resolve. It’s a brilliant start to the night and you can catch the full video interview HERE. It’s not long until the first band of the night take to the stage. Odd Palace might be first on but, let me tell you, these Danish prog metallers are the real deal. They're like Tiberius, in every way - fun, joking, very technical, heavy when they want to and more commercially catchy if they fancy it. Just listen to ‘Chemical Solution’ and tell me otherwise!

Live Review : LANDMVRKS + ten56. + Resolve @ Rebellion, Manchester on May 24th 2022

Sometimes you’re at a gig and it just feels that little bit more special, that it’s a night you’ll tell the kids about and could be one of those watershed “I was there” moments. Tonight feels like one of those times. All three bands end up performing phenomenal sets, and in particular for headliners LANDMVRKS you feel that this should be the start of something massive.
