Bloodstock Festival Countdown : 24 Bands Not To Miss
Ah there you are. What took you? We have another entry in our astonishingly diverse list of the bands you need to be boring your campsite mates about as you struggle to put up your tent. This time around we've got you a Doozer. A UK debut by a legendary act. By unpopular demand Vicki has finally managed to get this bunch of German retrobates over the border into our lives. So we give you.
18. - Excrementory Grindfuckers – Sophie Stage, Friday around 15:30.
Welcome to forty minutes that completely disprove any theory that Germans don't have a sense of humour. For 25 years, Excrementory Grindfuckers have took an absurdist and humorous spin on grind. Imagine Evil Scarecrow but with dirtier, faster riffs and a mind much further in the gutter, and you're probably halfway there. Excrementory Grindfuckers are filthy, ferocious and utterly hilarious. They understand the utter absurdity of our music and happily play with that irrational ridiculousness. Silly and ludicrously farcical they have made a name across the continent for laughing and farting in metal's poe-faced direction. But they have never made it over here. It may well be to do with legal and immigration issues or maybe they have never been arsed to cross the channel but our Vicki has done all us fans of absurd grindcore a solid by booking their long-awaited debut in this country. So gather and enjoy my friends because, boy this is something else…..
I just love Metal. I love it all. The bombastity of symphonic, the brutality of death, the rousing choruses of power, the nihilistic evil of black, the pounding atmospherics of doom, the whirling time changes of prog, the faithful familiarity of trad, the other worldlyness of post, the sheer unrefined power of thrash. I love it all!
