666 : Damnation 2026 Headliners Announced!

Expectation inevitably results in disappointment. How many times has an event promised you the greatest lineup ever, only to then present you with a couple of reunions nobody wanted, three outfits with only the original drummer left and their mates' brother's band? It is very easy to talk up your ambition, it is more difficult to land something that fulfils those words. Damnation Festival has made cutting through the bullshit its USP. It doesn't want to be another event with an expensive headliner and a makeshift “that will do” undercard.

666 : Damnation 2025 Preview

The evolution of the Damnation festival has been a joy to behold. It is the true definition of an underground success story. This is not a corporate giant forged within a soulless focus group. This is a twenty-year-long tale of overnight triumph. Damnation started two decades ago as a ramshackle attempt by a bunch of wide-eyed amateurs to put on the bands that they wanted to see, as opposed to the ones they felt Live Nation was force feeding them at Download. A chaotic day at the now-defunct Jilly’s Rockworld in Manchester was headlined by the then high-flying Raging Speedhorn and the Swedish legends Entombed.

666 : Damnation! I Hear You Say

We go again. Damnation’s third instalment in its new Mancunian home is mere weeks away. The excruciating labyrinths of Leeds University seems a lifetime ago and we are ready to be plunged back into the euphoria of extreme metal in an arena setting. Gav, Paul and their underlings in many ways have nothing left to prove. They have shown that Damnation can move to much bigger premises but retain its unique atmosphere and allure.

The bill on offer is a smorgasbord of extreme metal crudites that outshines anything they have previously managed to cobble together.
