Since the arrival of Jesse Wood on guitar in April 2014, Reef are back stronger and better than ever.

2016 was a rich and fulfilling year, with an overwhelming response at radio and TV to the comeback single How I Got Over, 5 weeks on Radio 2 A list, 3 appearances on The One Show, and a 4 month summer stint of festivals including Isle of Wight and an ecstatic Glastonbury Festival comeback, and a sell out UK tour just over, all whilst fitting in recording the band’s first studio album in 17 years with legendary long time Reef producer George Drakoulias, pencilled in for September release and full U.K. tour to coincide.

Reef formed in 1994 and the launch of their first album replenish was followed by touring in ’94 and ’95 supporting Paul Weller, The Rolling Stones and Soundgarden, amongst others. The follow-up to Replenish was 1997’s Glow, which was more diverse, with the band using different instruments and creating a more interesting style. Glow was recorded under the direction of The Black Crowes’ record producer, George Drakoulious (now re-united with the band) Glow wowed international audiences with hit singles “Place Your Hands”, “Come Back Brighter”, “Consideration” and “Yer Old”. On the week of its release, Glow went straight to number 1 in the UK Albums Chart. “Place Your Hands”, released on 21 October 1996, was Reef’s most successful single to date, reaching number 6 in the UK singles chart.

Following a long break in touring and recording the, in March 2016 the band released the single “How I Got Over”, debuting the song on The Chris Evans Breakfast Show on BBC Radio 2. The single features a gospel choir recorded in Los Angeles and the video shows the band surfing in Cornwall. In April and May 2018, the group will go on a tour of the UK. On 4 May, the group will release their fifth album, Revelation.
