Attica Rage @ Rebellion, Manchester

ATTICA RAGE is a heavy rock band from Glasgow, Scotland who recently celebrated their 15 year anniversary, having formed in Glasgow in March 2003 (although the band name had existed previously in a different incarnation).

“Attica Rage have mastered the art of welding big hooks to clenched-fist heaviness…the distilled hits of rock and metal, bashed out with passion and honesty.” - Dom Lawson, Metal Hammer

Since the release of debut album Ruin Nation in October 2008 (with mastering by Ace of Skunk Anansie and artwork by iconic Motörhead artist Joe Petagno), Attica Rage has released a further three, critically-acclaimed albums, along with singles, bonus tracks, videos and a feature-length live concert & documentary film. June 2016 saw the release of the band’s fourth full-length album Warheads Ltd, described as a ‘hard rock/heavy metal gem….a career-defining album’ (5/5 PlanetMosh) and “full of catchy rock anthems with heavy metal riffs and classic ballads” (9/10 Loud-Stuff). They have also contributed a cover version for an Ozzy Osbourne tribute album. Reviews, blogs and airplay from the likes of Classic Rock ('Track of the Day'), Metal Hammer ('Album of the Month'), play-listed on Planet Rock, Total Rock ('Album of the Week'), spots on Hard Rock Hell Radio's weekly charts, plus magazine cover-mount CDs in UK, Germany & Sweden and live TV appearances have all helped Attica Rage reach a wide-spread global audience. The core fans even have their own nickname – 'Clan Attica' – which includes fans with tattoos of the band's skull mascot!

“We know who will be there to carry the mantle for no-nonsense British rock’n’roll when Motörhead hang up their umlauts” - CackBlabbath

Attica Rage have clocked up hundreds of shows on headline tours across the UK & Europe as well as opening for acts such as Black Label Society, Saxon, Testament, Iced Earth, Skindred and Iron Maiden's Steve Harris British Lion amongst others. Seasoned festival veterans, highlights over the years have included Bloodstock Open Air, Download, Hard Rock Hell, Hammerfest and High Voltage, sharing bills with titans such as Judas Priest, Slash, Anthrax, Slayer, Killing Joke and Down. Attica Rage also performed at the Metal Hammer Golden Gods awards show party, on a boat sailing along the Thames River in London and, more recently, headlined the official Iron Maiden Trooper Beer Party at the Hard Rock Cafe on the day the metal legends visited Scotland on their 2017 world tour.

“Over a decade into their stride, Attica Rage remain a force to be reckoned with and one which any no-nonsense rock fan should investigate” - Hit the Lights

With Lawrence O'Brien joining the established line-up of drummer and founding member Richie Rage, his brother Jonny Parr on vocals and guitar and bassist Matthew Ward, Attica Rage are at the dawn of a new chapter in 2018. Fans should look out for tour dates later in the year while writing begins this summer on songs for a brand new album in 2019.
