Live : Vuur @ FAC251, Manchester

The Liverpool progrock band Exploring Birdsong left me baffled as I got nearer to the stage. "What! no guitar? but 2 keyboards! Who's playing the second keyboards? The bass player! Of course!".
Great set of progrock, where everything that matters is about mood and melody, with great vocals from Linsey Ward, occasionally reminding me of Kate Bush.

Formed since 2016, VUUR is a Dutch progressive metal band led by singer and lyricist Anneke van Giersbergen and musicians she's worked with previously. They are currently touring the UK, to support their last year release `In This Moment, We Are Free - Cities'.

With a voice as clear as crystal, it is crystal clear that Anneke is simply gifted. With a radiant smile, she effortlessly delivered a rather heavy set except for a couple of acoustic songs where she truly shined and excelled.
