11. The Night Flight Orchestra - 'Aeromantic'

Are you after some glorious escapism? Do you want rich, sumptuous melodies and massive golden choruses? Do you want an album that drips cheese but does so in an elegant manner? Well then “Aeromantic” is the record for you. The Night Flight Orchestra are the outlet for Soilwork singer Björn Strid’s poppier tendencies. He has used the band to explore his love of seventies AOR and big extravagant pop rock.

This is Vegas on a plate. All pomp, circumstance and sing along choruses. It also sounds utterly divine. The tracks here are precession designed to be catchier than a COVID in a packed pub (remember them). They just ooze class. Even after the first listen I felt that every song had been an integral part of my life forever. It is just so infectious a listen. You can’t help but smile, you can’t help but sing, you can’t help but let them into your life and in this day and age you can’t say fairer than that!
